9 MILE CEMETERY EVANGELISTIC MEETING 2018


The 10 day open air evangelistic meeting was the Papua New Guinea Union Mission (PNGUM) organised program. This was a nationwide meeting conducted at various missions and multiple locations. 

Here in the Central Papua Conference (CPC), the PNGUM evangelistic meetings were run in various locations within the National Capital District (NCD) and Hiri & Motu-Koita districts. Within NCD the three zones (Port Moresby South, Port Moresby North-West & Port Moresby North-East) organised their own. 

In Port Moresby North-East, there were several locations chosen and conducted by various pastors. For the 9mile valley churches (McGregor, 9mile, Makana, Evedahana, Bomana War Cemetery, Granville, Eriama valley & Eastern Farea) the meeting was hosted at the nine mile cemetery. 

A committee was established, preparatory tasks delegated and each of the church assisted to host the meeting. The program commenced nightly at 6.30pm with music, preliminary singing groups and main message which ended between 8.30-9.00 pm. The guest speaker was Pr. Peter Bani who is the church pastor of nine mile Seventh-day Adventist Church. According to the meeting report given by the committee chairman, the nightly attendance was between minimum 200-300 adults and over 100 children. During appeals each night, hundreds stood and commit their lives to the Lord.
 



The Sabbath program ended on a high note with baptism of 24 candidates (8-males and 16-females). The candidates were from the 9mile valley churches with two of them from Makana Organised church; Ms Rosi John (Evedahana church) and Mr. Wesley Robert (Eastern Farea church). The officiating pastors for the baptism were Pr. Peter Bani & Pr. Harry. 

The program ended with singing inspiration in the Sabbath afternoon with closing thought by speaker Pr. Peter Bani and Closing Remarks by meeting committee. 

The next open air evangelistic meeting for Makana Organised church will be this quarter hosted by Bomana War Cemetery church.

BOMANA WAR CEMETERY EVANGELISTIC MEETING - VITIS INDUSTRIES 2018 

The 14 days (2-weeks) open air evangelistic meeting was hosted by Bomana War Cemetery church, branch church of Makana Seventh-day Adventist Church. The meeting was conducted by the Guest Speaker Pastor Edward David Dango (current Church Pastor of Hohola Seventh-day Adventist Church). This was the annual evangelistic meeting of Makana organised church.

 The nightly meetings were attended by both church members of Makana and branch churches, Christians from other denominations and non-believers. Makana rural Hiri branches (Wabi, Berere, Besea & Kerea) joined during the second week. They camped at the Bomana War Cemetery church ground.

 

The meeting had opening & closing ceremony. Community leader (Dominic) was involved during the occasions. Nightly meetings followed with Sabbath programs, Baptisms and Singing inspirations that ended with final evening meeting.

The highlights of the meeting were that 16 souls were baptised into the faith. Also it was noted that the nightly attendance were approximately 300 – 400. The branch churches that attended were Kerea, Besea, Berere, Wabi, Makana, Evedahana & Bomana War Cemetery church.

 

The Sabbath Divine Service program was conducted by Pr. Rex Koi which he conducted the baptism.




The program winded down with baptismal gifts presentation and acknowledgements of Guest speaker and community. The following people were acknowledged by the organising committee;
